Turner
was entrusted to me by Beth Johnson of Summit Golden
Retrievers. She finished both her American and
Canadian Championships by the time she was 16 months of age
with multiple group placements, including a Group 1 and
back-to-back majors at specialties. She was also a Best
in Sweepstakes winner and received 17 Show Dog Hall of Fame
points before retiring. Although Turner was never
bred, I considered her to be my foundation as she was the
first to bare the kennel prefix "Allure" in her name.
She
was my gentle princess and the epitomy of the perfect
golden temperament. Though she wasn't a famous show
dog, we accomplished and experienced many wonderful
things together. The wins she had are unimportant to
me, it was about showing my favorite dog and simply
being proud of her and sharing many experiences
together. I learned so much about the dog show world
because of her. I have my memories and they are all
good with Turner, she was perfect in my eyes.
I miss her terribly and it is very different at home
without her. She had the most beautiful eyes.
The last
pictures below are from the GRCA 2006 National. I
brought Turner out of retirement to be shown as a
veteran. I was so proud she was still with us and
wanted to show her off. She hadn't been in the
ring for at least 7 years...and never missed a beat.
She was always my "push button" show dog with the
occasional stubborn moment.
