Allure's Little Bitty
"Mini"
November 2, 2005 - May 3, 2006

Mini was the 9th
puppy born from our "Country Song" Litter. I
knew at birth this was a special puppy that would need extra
attention as she developed. At birth
she was half the size of her littermates and she had unusual
"scar" across her back that was very symmetrical in shape.
At the time, we did not know the significance of that mark
and the Dr.'s didn't know what to make of it. The
"scar" filled in as she grew so there was very little
evidence that it was there at birth.
Mini was a tough little one but
always a week or so behind in development from her siblings.
Everyone was drawn to Mini when they'd visit because she was
always at your feet wanting to be held. The person who
fell in love with her the most was puppy nanny
extraordinaire and my dear friend Karen. She took this
special needs girl into her home. At 8 weeks, Mini's
blood work showed some impaired kidney values. We had
an ultrasound done on her kidneys which showed us they were
abnormally formed and not functioning properly. The
"scar" I mentioned above was right over her kidney's.
Her life expectancy was unknown but Karen still wanted to
keep Mini and care for her.
Mini's time with
us was to short but I feel she was placed here on earth
specifically for Karen. Karen lost her "heart" dog,
Shannon, a couple years back and Mini taught her that it was
OK to love another dog as much as Karen loved Shannon.
Mini was able to fill a void in her heart that Shannon left
when she passed away.
The below
memorial is written by Karen...from her heart.

"I believe in
love at first sight, that angels live among us, and good
things come in small packages. I believe there is a
Rainbow Bridge and Mini is waiting for me there.
Mini.
Isn't that a great name for the smallest puppy born in a
litter of nine girls? I fell instantly in love with
her when she was only hours old. I couldn't wait until
she was old enough to come home with me.
This spunky,
fluffy, adorable puppy with her funky Mohawk hair-do made
herself comfortable at home in my heart and in the heart of
whoever met her. I always said, "To know Mini is to
love her." And someone said back to me, "Ah, but look
at the love she gives back." It's true. This
sweet girl brought out the best in people. People
smiled when Mini was around. I hope she knew I was
proud of her for doing that.
Mini brought so
much joy, so much fun, so much happiness to everyone.
I've always wondered if she knew she wouldn't be here for
very long and she lived to enjoy each and every day.
So I learned to enjoy each and every day with her. And
I think something else I learned from her was that an
ordinary day was a treasure and one more day with her was a
gift. I never knew for sure how long Mini would be
with me. Even now knowing we'd only have a few months
together, I'd still do it all over again. Loving her
and being loved by her was another gift she shared. I
have many happy memories of my little "heart dog." I
catch myself smiling a lot when I think about her."
